My most recent group of dolls don't really have a theme per se - I just tried to use more colour than usual in effort to rebel against the frozen drabness of January. My dolls' hair and clothes continue to become more and more asymmetrical, which is fun because it gives me a lot of freedom and I really enjoying texturing fabric. I'm posting the first ten dolls today and will post the next four on Tuesday.
Winnie, in the upper right-hand corner, is the doll whose proceeds will go to Doctor's Without Borders Haitian relief fund. I named her after a little girl that was rescued after three days buried under the rubble.
I'm also working on a couple of prints; just keeping my fingers crossed that I can finish them by Wednesday.
(All dolls are made from paperclay and measure between 10" and 13" inches.)
Okay, I'm off to sculpt tiny feet!
it's just so amazing to see how each one is her own character, they look alive. it's their eyes, they are so deep, such real expressions.
i'm so excited for the update, right now my favourite is Alisée!

Oooh how lovely and exciting!! I think "flowers in January" is a perfectly acceptable theme, they are a much more floral bunch. I do think they look like they are ready to head out for a picnic - only because it's summer here in January, perfect picnic weather!!
I have two most-most favourites. If you don't believe me when I say I am going to be camping out front of your etsy shop with my sleepingbag and thermos, then you underestimate my desire not to be thwarted a third time!! :-)

Looking forward to your shop update, love the dolls, they continue to be fabulous! I guess you are not involved in the OWOH Event starting on MON. so please stop by and get in the give-away

They are gorgeous! After seeing them finished my favorite out of this group is definitely Esme. Love the wild hair, and the tattered hem on her dress. Makes it look like she was just in a scuffle. The innocent pose and expression must be an attempt to get off the hook about something!

Sarah, once again I run out of adjectives to describe how your little beauties take my breath away. I scroll up and down my computer screen just gazing into each little soul - the beauty, and intrigue of each one astounds me. You continue to amaze with such profound artistry.
My favourites so far have to be: Piper, and lovely Winnie, oh, and Collete, and Amelie, oh, and Esme..... and I can't wait to show my daughter Emma (her namesake!)...and then there's Dafia.....beautiful all beautiful...

Bewitched by Dafia, I'm going to have to be fast!!

I love them all and their poses on your photos. My favourites are Liliane (she's got amazing hair colour) and Esme. All dolls' clothes are so simple, but they look bautiful.
Hugs :*

Flowers in January, I love it! Beautiful dolls as always, especially your twisted valentines. One of my valentine dolls came out with a sad face, I guess it's just realistic :)

Thanks Kaci! Have you ever seen Beth Robinsons Valentines dolls? Those are pretty twisted, in a great way....
