Snow fell here in Montreal last week; honest-to-goodness big, wet flakes of beautiful snow. Lovely to behold, but somewhat horrifying to consider. If it starts snowing in October, that means winter could last as long as seven months, as opposed to its usual 5-6 month stranglehold. I actually love winter for the first three months or so, but then the love turns to tolerance, which soon sours to frustration , and then finall I start to weep on the inside. So, as you can see, I have rather complicated feelings about those pretty little flakes. It's been quite cold and grey this past week, and I'm preoccupied with keeping warm; double-socks with slippers, scarves on inside the house. It doesn't seem fair to make the dolls suffer their usual little bare arms, so I've given a few little sleeved capelets to wear. They look so cute, I'm thinking I need a few for myself...
Some are still naked and bald, the poor dears, so I'm busily chopping up old, holey sweaters and giving them new life as doll-warmers.
The cats, however, seem to have this whole business of keeping warm all figured out. Here they are, all three, in a sweet kitten heap.
As I write the, the Mr. l'Orange is firmly planted under my chin. He thinks it's time to stop writing!
How strange to consider it's snowing for you, just as it's blossoming into spring for me.
But I think your pretty little dears will take very well to winter: that little shrug cardigan is so adorable, and it fits your aesthetic perfectly!
With the slighty mothy look of that cardigan, she reminds me of a shivering urchin or poor maiden in an old English classic, something by Dickens : )
I can't wait to see what you dream up for those other little nudie girls... before they come down with pneumonia!!

I think the whole world is experiencing a cooler winter...at least in the Northern exposure. Yesterday it was almost 80 degrees here...today it is 60 degrees. We all ready have snow on our Sierra Mountains where the Red Woods are..that usually doesn't happen until late November. I know the New England states (where my sister lives) hardly experienced any summer. Your latest doll looks awesome. And I love your kitties! I miss having a cat, although one lives under our shed. It took her a year to warm up to me and meow and talk. Brrrr..it sure sounds cold in Canada. Poor you and poor dollies, hope you keep warm!

Love the capelets--- I also like the doll! I have never lived in a place that has snow so I can't imagine what it would be like. I have, however, been to the snow so can sympathise.
I love how cats always find a way to be cosy no matter what- and how indignantly they look at you if you try to shift them!

I love the capelet! It's freezing here in Montana already, too. I feel the same way about winter - I'm great until Christmas is over and then I'm over it. Wouldn't it be great to wake up on New Years morning every year to full blown spring? I can't think of any better way to spend New Years day! xo

The picture of your kitties make me want to curl up with a blanket. It's cold and rainy here in KY right now. Defiantly not the greatest weather.
I also love that you are giving the dollies little sleeved capelets. Very cute and perfect for the season. The bald ladies are looking good. The one with the pink eyes stood out to me. But they all have darling faces. I can't wait to see them all finished.

Sarah:
I've often wondered what it would be like to live somewhere gray and cold for such a long amount of time. Sometimes, here in California, I dream of an actual winter. Most times, at Christmas, we have all of our windows open while preparing the feast!
I adore those teeny tiny sweaters you're making for your dolls. I'll bet they're very pleased with them as well!

I love your fat kittens dear Suzie and I love the cold and snow. That is why life played a dirty trick on me and I live in a place of perpetual, insufferable, summer heat and humidity.

It has just been so mild here I actually want some cold weather! Cats always know what to do. They are the kings and queens of comfort!

You might have given this information before, but would you mind telling where you get the eyes for your wonderful dolls?
Thanks,
