I have been inspired by the generosity of some of my sister bloggers and am joining the one world one heart event. I will be giving away Nanette on Valentine's Day! You can enter up until midnight of February 13th (Eastern time) and I will draw and announce the winner on the evening of the 14th. Then I'll put her in the mail and send her off to the winner. (You can see the official site here, and check out the other participants as well.) All you have to do is leave me a comment with a brief observation or anecdote about dolls...maybe you love them, maybe they give you the creeps (but you still love them) maybe when you were a kid you would have to say goodnight to each one you had individually so as not to upset them and you were always convinced they were having a party in your room when you weren't there so you would open the door really quickly and try to catch them in the act but never could! (or maybe that was just me??)
Nanette is one of my ornament dolls, so while she has no limbs, she does come with a lovely ribbon and hanger and is happiest on a wall or Christmas tree. She is entirely handmade from polymer clay, hand-painted a wearing a hand-made dress. Her hair is mohair. She is truly one of a kind!
I'm really looking forward to hearing people's doll-tales! (And if you want to make it up, that's fine too.)
I received your link and have added you to the participant list.
THANK YOU for joining in.
Please enter my name for Nanette, she is amazing! I will looking around here for sure!
I love dolls, all my life. I make art dolls as well. I cannot usually store my old ones from childhood in a plastic bag...you may think me insane but it makes me feel they are suffocating.
I hope you'll drop by my giveaway as well.
Have fun,
Lisa Oceandreamer

Lovely! I've been so impressed with your recent doll creations. My boyfriend bought your Lizzie for me for our anniversary and she lives on my mantle.
I've always loved dolls, since I was a kid. I have a big collection of dolls from my childhood, and have recently started a small hand-made doll collection, that began with Lizzie. I have one other, the Owl Girl from A Fanciful Twist. I want to add to this collection slooowly, because I want only dolls that really speak to me.
I've even started making some of my own dollies!

Well you knew I'd be dropping by :) I hope I win Nanette!
When I was a kid I use to play with dolls (paper too) and they use to have imaginary conversations (in my head) about serious issues. I always preferred playing by myself instead of with other kids because of this. My dolls just weren't "into shopping" and such trivial things. Weird, huh :P

Oh I hope she can come and live with me!!

I love dolls. I had a special doll when I was little that my grandmother got me at a yard sale. The eyes were a little freaky, but I loved her. One day my grandmother told me that she found a doll hospital and that she would take my doll there to have the eyes repaired. I cried and I cried because I loved her the way she was and did not want her to leave my sight. I still have my doll and she still has her freaky eyes. LOL! :-) I will never part with her.

I ran across your link the other day on one of the other doll artists blog. I immediately went to your ETSY store and bookmarked it as a favorite. I am drooling over the dolls there...1 in particular.
I have been collecting dolls for years. I always played with dolls as a little girl. Since I gave birth to 2 sons, the dolls are now "my girls". I love the individual detailing in each one. Some are wood with jointed limbs, some china, some with real hair.....but none from polymer clay.
I would be honored to be added to your drawing. Thanks so much for participating and offering such a heart-warming giveaway.

Oh, what a lovely doll! I have to say I had just one doll growing up ... lots of stuffed animals, but only one doll, Heidi. She is a Madame Alexander doll & went with me everywhere, even on my trip to Greece when I was 12 years old, my little slice of home. She has more clothes than I do, to this day, and I can tell you right where she is. And where her rollerskates are, too. :)

Even though I was a tomboy, I loved dolls as well when I was a child - both baby dolls and Barbies and the like. When I grew up, my daughter and two of my sons also loved their dolls - the other two boys were more stuffed animal lovers - and so there were always dolls of some sort accompanying us and being tucked into bed with people. As the kids grew older, dolls were sort of forgotten in my life until I realized I missed them and I didn't need my kids as an excuse to love them. I have a small shelf with an eclectic collection of dolls - and I do mean eclectic - there's an plastic anatomically correct doll, one of the twin baby dolls that used to belong to my son, a baby doll from a friend who passed away, raggedy ann and andy (not the ones I had as a child, alas, but they are old), an old slave doll from long ago I inherited from my husband's family, an old Marie Alexander doll I had as a child and loved until she had no shoes (so she's hardly a collectible anymore!), a clown doll, a broken faced porcelain doll from long ago..... a few more. I also have a collection of witch dolls that I now have to share with my granddaughters when they come to visit.
When I was little I had a wooden doll - she came with a book. Somehow I got her and her story mixed up with a ghost tale that kids told when i was a kid and I have to admit, she scared me a little bit - but not enough to get rid of her, although I don't know where she is now. Maybe my mom still has her. I've made a few dolls and would love to make more, it's like seeing a person come to life, each one has a personality and purpose of their very own. Okay, I'll stop now. You probably weren't expecting someone to write practically a post of their own in response! Thanks for the nudge down memory lane. Oh, and obviously I'd love a chance to have Nanette come live with me.

Black eyed Susans are my favorite flower! I'm so happy that this is an easy site name to remember, as I will be BACK to visit again and again. I LOVE dolls! (Still have a whole bassinette full of dolls from my childhood-on prominent display at home- fuzz picked, one eyed, patched and well loved.) Please sign me up for your drawing! (ANd if you pop over to my blog, sign up for my OWOH giveaway- then hit the tag for my elves entries, and you'll see I STILL play with dolls!) (I would give her a lovely home, she could play with ones of her own kind *grin*
