We are leaving today do go on vacation for 2 1/2 weeks! I'm so excited. I've been dreaming about the ocean for months.
But before I go, here are a few things I've been working on:
This another 'doll hanging', similar to Sadie in concept. This girl is praying (for what, I'm not sure) and has a halo, and looks very worried (I don't think I've ever made a happy-looking doll...) She's not quite done, but when I get back, I'll finish her and put her in my Etsy shop.
I've also been working on a larger doll made from paperclay. She has one brown eye and one blue eye, which makes her quite spooky. I found a pattern for a peiced body that I think is going to make my life much easier. It gives the doll a really nice shape, and takes the guess-work out sewing the body (until now, this was always my least favourite part.)
And up close:
And as a little nod to one of my favourite artists, as well as my favourite husband, here are a few of pics of the doll-house said lovely husband made for me for my birthday last year, in which reside my treasured Dame Darcy dolls (also given to me by my guy.)
These girls are kickin' it in the downstairs parlour/ bathroom (notice one brash lady taking her bath as the others gossip...)
These are the ghosty hags who haunt the place....
And here they all are, so happy together!
HAPPY REST OF SUMMER!!!
