The past few weeks have been insane, and didn't set foot in my studio until yesterday. I considered giving up my blog several times in the past two weeks; I wondered, if I don't have new work to write about consistently, should I just leave it languishing? I was full of questions, self-recriminations, regrets! But I've decided that if most of time these days is spent is spent reading, writing, and reading about writing, then I will simply incorporate some of that into my blog. My original intention was to make this blog all about my dolls and artwork, but as don't have the 48 hours in each day I keep beseeching the heavens to give me, I will have to write about other things if I want to keep it going, which I do!
Without further I-do (oh, lack-of-sleep, why do you bring out such bad in puns in me?)
The Lady of Shalott (Alfred Tennyson)
On either side the river lie
Long fields of barley and of rye,
That clothe the wold and meet the sky;
And thro' the field the road runs by
To many-tower'd Camelot;
And up and down the people go,
Gazing where the lilies blow
Round an island there below,
The island of Shalott.
